Visiting MPs should meet local politicians

An MLC says he thinks it's a shame a prominent Labour MP who visited the Island last week didn't have a chance to properly meet local politicians and learn more about the Isle of Man.

Former Home Secretary, Shadow Chancellor - and now well-known author - Alan Johnson was addressing an audience at the Gaiety Theatre as part of Manx LitFest 2015.

Speaking on Sunday's 'Sunday Opinion' programme, Geoff Corkish said bearing in mind Mr Johnson had been Home Secretary he was surprised he didn't know more about the Island.
