Minister keen to avoid UK situation

School children will not be automatically sent home to self-isolate if someone in the classroom tests positive for Covid-19.

Government says it's changing its approach to dealing with positive cases saying it wants to avoid 'lockdown by default'.

On Thursday 1 July it was revealed four students, across two schools, had tested positive for the virus - the schools are believed to be St Ninian's High School and Cronk Y Berry Primary School.

Education Minister Dr Alex Allinson says he's keen to avoid what's happening elsewhere:
