Mammoth question paper for Tynwald
Members got their teeth stuck into issues such as work permits, dental health and the dredging of Peel marina when Tynwald sat yesterday.
There were a mammoth 51 questions on the order paper - 26 of them for oral answer.
It was the final sitting of the court before the summer resess, meaning the last chance for members to ask parliamentary questions until October.
Dr Alex Allinson kicked off the questions by asking the treasury minister about pension freezes for those living overseas.
It was one of three questions the Ramsey MHK was set to ask in the court - with the others concerning the relevance of the DEC's special needs policy and the standard of dental care services in the north.
Eleven different voices were heard during oral questions yesterday - including East Douglas member Clare Bettison's, who was to ask Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer about the clearing of horse excrement from Douglas promenade.
Other topics one the agenda were progress on the Enterprise Development Scheme, feedback on the Patient Transfer Service and the total bed capacity in Island nursing homes.
