FOE IOM concerned about UK fracking decision

Friends of Earth Isle of Man has expressd concern about the decision to allow fracking in an area of Lancashire just outside Blackpool.

Whilst the county council had turned down Cuadrilla's application for the development of a site to exploit shale gas, last week that decision was overturned by the UK government in the interests of national government.

Cat Turner from FOE IOM says the decision increases the British Isles dependence on fossil fuels and damages the likelihood of proper resources being put into renewable sources - to say nothing of direct environmental concerns.
