Don't become over-dependent on e-gaming

A newly-elected MHK says economic dependence on the e-gaming sector could spell bad news for the Island in the future.

Member for Douglas North, David Ashford, questioned the economic development minister about the diversity of the Manx economy yesterday - the first sitting of the court since last month's General Election.

Mr Ashford believes the government should encourage growth in sectors such as research and development and renewable energy.

And he cautions against an 'unbaanced' economy.
