Western Vikings' tribute to current player who's passed away

Chris Fryer 'always gave 100%' and will be 'sadly missed'

Western Vikings Rugby Club have paid tribute to one of their players, who has passed away this week.

The post on Western Vikings' Facebook page says the club was 'deeply saddened' to learn of Chris Fryer's death.

It praises his team ethic - which saw him ready to play anywhere in the back line - and his enthusiasm for getting involved in community events such as the Royal Manx Agricultural Show and Viking Longboat Day.

The post adds that he always gave 100% and will be sadly missed.

The club says its deepest sympathies are with his family, friends, and Vikings teammates at this time.

Something will be organised in his memory when Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

Western Vikings' post concludes by reminding its players that although you may be in isolation, you are not isolated, and your club and teammates can help you through this difficult time.
