Town win again

The promotion battle in CFS Division Two continues.

Leaders Castletown maintained their fine form with a 5-1 thrashing of Douglas Royal at the Stadium to move four points clear – thanks to a Michael Edge hat-trick and goals from Alex Crawley and Brett Alcotte.

With St John’s not in action, Marown moved back into second spot after edging a five goal contest at home to battling Malew.

Colin Gilbert and James Sharp were on target for Marown and there was also an own goal.

Pulrose remain in the hunt after a 7-2 thrashing of Onchan.

Doubles from Dave Skillen, Barry English and Jay Wood, with one from Chris Cowin, meant
Gareth Gawne and Neil Cain’s replies were mere consolations.

Braddan won 5-2 at Foxdale – Michael Shimmin (two), Gary Thomas, Shane Larkin, and an own goal the scorers – while Douglas and District gained a fine 2-2 draw against the Police.

David Bradford and James McIlhagga were the D&D scorers with Lee Christian and Darren Loader the Police goal-getters.
