Fayle and Christian also impress at BUCS Championships

Isle of Man athletes Ollie Lockley and Erika Kelly both secured top-20 finishes during their latest international competitions at the weekend.

The Manx pairing were both off-Island on Sunday (5 May) with Lockley contesting the Copenhagen Marathon with England and Kelly taking on the Warsaw Race Walking Cup.

In Denmark, Lockley took 17th spot in a time of of two hours 22 minutes and 48 seconds - the second highest finish by an England athlete behind teammate Ross Braden who finished 15th.

Elsewhere, Kelly produced a season best in Poland in the 20km race clocking one hour 44 minutes and 46 seconds to finish 19th in what is her best performance over that distance since 2019.

Meanwhile, two more Manx competitors were in action at the British Universities (BUCS) Track & Field Championships in Manchester from 4-6 May.

Representing Edge Hill University, Tazmin Fayle won the 'B' final in the women's discus with a throw of 38.35 metres, just shy of her own Manx record of 38.69 metres set last year.

On the track Aimee Christian - part of the University of Chester team - reached the semi-finals of the women's 400 metres.
