Town and Ramsey stay top

Castletown and Ramsey both had good wins on Saturday to remain top of the Standard Bank Premiership.

The Town dismissed Crosby for 126 with Mark Williams bowling well to take 4-28.

Asanka de Silva made 31 for the Marown side and Jacob Hicklin finished on 26 not out.

A 66 from Garreth Morris then saw Castletown to victory by seven wickets.

The highlight of Ramsey's 218 against Peel was a violent 43 from Ollie Webster, who crashed no fewer than five sixes in his brief innings.

Eddie Cleator scored 40 and Ric Holden was in fine form to take 6-31.

In reply Peel had an opening stand of 66 between Paul Atherton and Chris McKenna, but then Jamie Moffatt struck.

He took 6-41 and the westerners were dismissed for 124 to give Ramsey victory by 74 runs.

Cronkbourne pulled off a fine win at Mullen-e-Cloie, Jeff Levin hitting a splendid 79 out of a total of 234.

Steve Clague made 37 and there were three wickets each for Arne van der Berg and Chris Hawke.

St John's then struggled against some hostile Cronkbourne bowling and were dismissed for 137; Daniel Hawke hit 25 with Neil Holmes taking 3-29.
