Three-way promotion battle hots up

It remains a three-way battle for honours in JCK Division Two.

All the pacesetters won again convincingly.

Leaders Michael United overcame battling Douglas Athletic 3-1, courtesy of goals from Kieran Quinn, Danny Chalk and Paul Corlett.

All the goals came in the first half before Matthew Harrison notched the second half reply.

Ramsey Youth Centre were pushed even harder by Douglas and District.

Michael Nixon and Graham Kennish were on target in a 2-1 home win.

Colby stay third, with a game in hand on Youth Centre, after a 5-0 success over Onchan.

An Adam Fretwell double, plus goals from Sam Renshaw, Brandon Law and Harry Best, did the damage.

Douglas Royal consolidated fifth spot with a 5-1 win over Braddan – Matt Entwhistle (two), Richard Winn, Simon Dooley and Ryan Kelly grabbed the goals.

Murphy had earlier opened the scoring for Braddan.

Ayre are fifth and defeated Pulrose United by the same scoreline at Andreas.

Chris Duggan (two), Jason Craine (two), and George Rawlinson got their goals.

Barry English scored again for Pulrose as the sides went in level at the break.

Bottom club Malew earned only their second victory of the season with a 2-1 success at Ronaldsway in the southern derby, thanks to goals from Craig Howard and Dean Kinley.
