Junior fell running champs coming up

The Isle of Man Bank-sponsored Junior Fell Running Championships take place on the next two Saturdays.

On October 6 it's school years two to seven which will be competing, in separate races for each year.

The venue is Peel Hill, with registration on the hill near Fennella Beach from 12.30pm and the first race away at 1.30pm.

Organisers say it would be helpful if as many competitors as possible could enter on the form sent out to all schools.

Entries can also be made by contacting the organisers on mail@manxfellrunners.org.

They will also be taken on the line and there is no entry fee.

Then on Saturday, October 13, it's the turn of years eight to thirteen.

The championships are being held in conjunction with the opening round of the Winter Hill Running League.

Venue is the Cringle Plantation on a 2.8km course that will be clearly marked and is described as testing but by no means overly difficult.

Registration will be from 12.30pm at the main entrance to the Cringle Plantation.

Again, organisers say it would be helpful if you would contact the organisers via mail@manxfellrunners.org if you wish to compete.

If enough interest is shown all the junior categories will compete in a separate race before the seniors, but if numbers are fairly small they will start with the seniors.

Entries will also be taken on the line and there is no entry fee for juniors.

Car parking could be a problem at this venue, so organisers are asking you to car share if at all possible.
