Tynwald seeking to appoint first auditor general

Tynwald is looking for its first auditor general.

The senior official will be tasked with improving government accountability for public spending, supporting value for money and financial efficiency.

The auditor general will report annually to Tynwald.

 

Speaker of the House of Keys Juan Watterson said: "It is encouraging to be a step closer towards filling this important role. 

"The auditor general has the potential to make a significant contribution to Tynwald’s oversight of public spending, offering assurance that resources are spent efficiently and effectively, and aligning the Isle of Man with established best practice."

Applications close on 7 November.
