Students relax before heading to university

The Isle of Man's A-level students are taking a well-earned rest today (Friday), after another excellent year of results, announced yesterday.

There was an overall pass rate of 97.8 per cent in the Island's five secondary schools, which is the second highest figure on record.

Director of education Martin Barrow says the vast majority of students have obtained places at the Universities they wanted to go to.

They can now relax for a few weeks before preparing to leave the Island, but his department still has more work to do on the results:
