Parents in south hear more about qualification options

It was the turn of parents in the south of the Island to find out more about future education options for their teenage children last night.

Castle Rushen High School held the second of four regional events to explain the Island's choices for how to proceed with qualifications for 14 to 16-year-olds.

With England set to do away with GCSEs it's being seen by the Department of Education as the right time to make such a decision.

Co-ordinator for 11-19 education in the Isle of Man Paul Craine says the evenings have a distinct purpose:
