Seven to contest seat on November 12th
A final candidate declared for the Douglas East by-election, shortly before nominations closed this lunchtime.
60-year-old former ship's captain Kurt Buchholz highlights stimulating economic growth, modernising government and improving the health system in his campaign manifesto.
Captain Buchholz says he'll push Tynwald to merge the departments of economy and infrastructure to combine their synergies and reduce costs.
He will join six other candidates vying for the seat to replace Brenda Cannell in the Keys.
They are: Clare Bettison, Richard Faulk, Jon Joughin, John McBride, Geraldine O'Neill, and Cat Turner.
John Hanson and Matthew Robinson withdrew.
Election day is Thursday November 12th.
