Opportunities and threats to be aired
An expert analysis of the Brexit process, and the issues facing UK and Isle of Man businesses, is being presented to a Manx audience this week.
Director of Public Policy at 'big four' accountancy firm KPMG Mark Essex, will address 200 colleagues and clients at the Palace Hotel in Douglas tomorrow (Wedy 18 Oct).
He'll explore key opportunities and threats for the Isle of Man, while KPMG's Island-based customs specialist Sandra Skuszka will outline potential changes to the VAT and customs regime.
The pair will then take part in a panel session, alongside Carl Hawker from the Department for Enterprise, and constitutional expert, Professor St John Bates.
The KPMG Brexit Forum, from 9 - 11.30 am is promising some lively debate.
Mr Essex says while there's been much talk of what type of deal the UK will agree, the question of whether there'll be a deal at all is now to the fore.
