The cost of living's high, there's a shortage of low-cost homes and travelling off-island can be expensive.
It sounds like the Isle of Man, but a bridge to France is being suggested as the solution to those very same problems in Jersey!
It's an enviable idea, although the last time such a link was suggested between here and England was on April Fool's day.
Jersey businessman Peter Walsh believes the Jersey-France link, via a 60 metre high bridge over 16 miles of sea, could be viable and it would pay dividends (audio file attached):
