HSBC lends support to first Isle of Pride festival

Bank sponsoring the family tent

HSBC is lending its support for the Isle of Man's first Pride festival.

The bank will sponsor the family tent at the event in the Villa Marina Gardens on Saturday, 12 June.

During the day the tent will play host to a range of creative activities including art projects, poetry and face painting as well as story times with drag queen 'Vida LaFierce'.

Support for the activities will be provided by HSBC volunteers.

Between 7pm and 10pm the tent will transform into a youth chill-out zone featuring meet and greet with drag acts.

Support will be provided by the LGBT youth workers team.

Luke Adebiyi from Isle of Pride said: "Pride's all about equality - and it's for all generations - so the tent will be a core component of the day's activities.

"We're really proud to have one of the Island's leading financial institutions on board - one which actively values diversity and fosters an inclusive culture."

Head of commercial banking Jaime Amoedo said: "HSBC was founded on the strength of different attributes, experiences and voices.

"The greater our empathy and diversity, the better we reflect the worlds of our customers, people and communities.

"It is fantastic to be supporting the very first Isle of Man Pride event; the bank values difference and is committed to championing the benefits of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.”
