As well as the free exhibition there is a series of talks, walks and tours and throughout the 11-month period.
April 2025
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th – a day of talks by leading experts on the subjects of Knox, Silver and Pewter. We are fortunate to have coming to the museum lecture theatre:
• Dr Stephen A Martin PsyD – the world authority on Knox and author/editor of the influential books on Knox.
• Anthony Bernbaum BA, MBA– expert on British silver and Knox, owner of the Peartree Collection and author of many papers on both subjects
• Paul Carter Robinson FRSA– expert and author on 20th Century Pewter: Art Nouveau to Modernism and CEO and editor in chief of Artlyst a London-based art information website.

Sunday 6th – Walk in the footsteps of Archibald Knox with Catriona Livingstone around Sulby where Knox lived from 1902 to1905. The maximum number of people on the walk will be 12.

Tuesday 8th – Join Manx registered Blue Badge tour guides for a visit to Douglas Borough cemetery where Knox designed 8 headstones and graves.

Friday 11th - Join MNH Curator Katie King for a guided tour of the Manx Museum’s new exhibition celebrating the life and work of Archibald Knox.

Saturday 12th - Join Chris Hobdell, founder of The Archibald Knox Forum, for a talk on the variations and types of examples of Knox’s iconic pewter tea and coffee set Model 0231.

Saturday 26th - Join Chris Hobdell, founder of The Archibald Knox Forum, for a talk on how to read silver hallmarks and other marks on Knox’s pieces. This is open to anybody aged 10 or upwards and includes hands on work looking at pieces.
