The treasury minister has announced a number of projects will get funding within this Budget.

  • The continued redevelopment of Radcliffe Villas - an adult learning disability respite unit on Glencrutchery Road - is receiving a further £2.3 million in this financial year, with a commitment of £3.315 million in 2026/26 and £115,000 in 2027/28.
  • As previously agreed by Tynwald, the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre will get £1.489 million to spend on upgrading its light and sound equipment.
  • £147,000 will be spent on two changing places toilets, one of which will be in the Sea Terminal.
  • As well as that, £671,000 will go towards modernising the visitor facilities at the Sea Terminal.
  • A further £551,000 is being allocated for the continuation of the upgrade to King Edward VIII Pier.
  • Meanwhile, Victoria Pier's linkspan is getting money for its refurbishment. It's due to get £195,000 this financial year, and then another £760,000 in 2026/27, £120,000 in 2027/28 and £12,000 in 2028/29.
  • A total of £683,000 is going to be spent upgrading Douglas Court House's ventilation system over the next five financial years.
