Local interests considered in VillaGaiety takeover

Local bids to run the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre will be welcomed by the Department of Economic Development - despite rejecting a plan to establish a trust for stakeholders.

The DED says it's currently making arrangements to seek out a contractor for the complex in the coming months.

Currently there are three UK-based parties showing interest.

But Minister Laurence Skelly says local stakeholders are being taken into account.
