Speaker calls for budget reform

The current budget process makes it impossible for government to progress initiatives without Treasury backing.

That's from the Speaker of the House of Keys, who is asking Tynwald to support his calls to reform the budget process.

The motion calling for plans to be published in advance and allow members to amend expenditure in some areas was being debated by the Island's parliament on Friday (23 July).
