Heathrow report champions regional links

The Island's Travel Watch group says a major expansion of Heathrow Airport would be good news for the Isle of Man.

The group's aviation spokesman Terry Liddiard says last week's report from the Airports' Commission higlights the importance of links between Heathrow and the British regions.

Its author Sir Howard Davies has come down heavily in favour of a third runway at Heathrow - although the UK government has yet to accept his recommendations.

Mr Liddiard, the former boss of Manx Airlines, says if they are implemented, a growth in regional traffic would benefit both travellers and local businesses.
