Travelwatch concerned over major project


A passenger watchdog says the promised £300,000 re-design of the security area at Ronaldsway Airport is unnecessary, and will condemn passengers to more months of 'inconvenience and distress'.

Terry Liddiard from Travelwatch says the Department of Infrastructure should've brought the second x-ray channel online rather than commit to a major project.

The DOI has revealed plans for automatic boarding card readers, a remodelled security area, use of the second scanner at peak time and hiring extra staff.

Mr Liddiard says the department is 'throwing money at the problem' rather than understanding the root cause:
