Wimbledon final for Tennis player

Thirteen-year-olds represent IoM in county comp

A young tennis player representing the Isle of Man has reached the final of a National Championship tournament at Wimbledon.

Thirteen-year-old Charlotte Clark beat her opponent in the semis 6-1 6-0 on the famous grass court this afternoon.

Fellow Albany player Roch Mirski lost his semi-final tie 1-6 3-6.

It is the first time competitors from the Douglas club have reached the knock-out stage of the 'Road to Wimbledon' event.

Forty-three British counties are represented by a boy and girl to play at the sports' iconic venue.

Albany's club secretary and former coach Pat Sharp is delighted for the pair.
