Vagas’ Ladies make it two from two

Emerging Nomads claim top spot in Manx Bowl

In a game of two halves at Ballafletcher, Vagabonds beat Altrincham Kersal 27-5 to maintain their 100 per cent record in Women’s NC North West One.

Early tries from Vanessa Tranter and Jess Swales got Vagas on the front foot.

Lauren Ellison then went in for a third try which was converted by Sammie Macdonald and, just before half-time, Lydia Grey made it four to leave them 22-0 up at the break.

A 50-metre Macdonald effort in the second half built the lead before Rosie Quinn snatched a consolation try for the visitors.

Emerging Nomads beat Vagabonds B 88-12 at King William’s College to hit the top of the table in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Bowl.

Rob Keelan ran in a hat-trick for Nomads with other scores from Jack Emmerson (two), Gerard Landels (two), Orry Watterson (two), John Walster, Mark Lean, Dave Prince, Mark Young and Michael Quayle.

The impressive Emmerson kicked nine conversions.

Cam Findlay bagged all the Vagas points with two tries and a conversion.
