Town top table after ten

Castletown are leading the Standard Bank Premiership after beating Peel in their tenth league game of the season yesterday.

The southern side finished their innings with an impressive 285 for 9;

There were a number of strong batting performances, Gareth Morris hit 62, Mark Williams 54, Dave Griffiths 38 and Christian Steriopulos 36.

They then dismissed Peel for 111, Bradley Marshall the leading bowler with figures of 4-10.

Ramsey had gone top earlier in the day after a good win over Crosby.

The Marown side recovered from 82 for 4 to reach 171 for 5 thanks to a fine 59 not out from Danny Kniveton.

Simon Watson hit 32 and Jamie Johnstone reached 26 before being stumped by Rob Webber.

Ramsey made a solid reply with opener Marc Pons-Burt scoring 50 and a subdued Ollie Webster ending with an unbeaten 57.

The team finished on 173 for 5 to gain a five wicket victory.

The Cronkbourne batsmen had a field day at Tromode, racking up 290 for 5 against Valkyres.

Jeff Levin led the way with 89, Max Stokoe hit 75 and Luke Lacey contributed 45.

Valkyres were then bowled out for 90 to give Cronkbourne their fifth win in the Premiership.
