Shooting: Sporting League wrapped up at Meary Veg

Class winners decided in final phase of competition

The forth and final round of the STRAND VETS Winter series PRO SPORTING league was held at Meary Veg Santon with 20 competitors taking part in dull damp conditions.

The leader after the first layout was Michael Cross with 22 points; in second place on 20 was junior Joe Faragher with Mark Barnett and B class shooter Mark Riley in equal third place on 19; leading C class at this stage was Jeff Corkill on 15. 

The second layout which was completely different to the first layout returned some good scores. 

In C class Sue Doyle finished in third place with 24 points, but we had a tie for first place between Ted Kermeen and Jeff Corkill with 33 points each. 

We also had a tie in B class between Mark Riley and Mark Hepworth who both shot 37 to tie for third place, second in B went to Rob Corlett on 38 with Will Rand taking first place on 39. 

We also had at tie for second place in A class between junior Joe Faragher and Mark Barnett on 40 but taking the top spot in A and also high-up on the day was Michael Cross with 44 points.
