In-form Ravens welcome side still vying for shot at promotion

The final action of a rollercoaster season for FC Isle of Man takes place tomorrow (22 April) as they host promotion challengers Wythenshawe Town in the final game of the NWCFL Premier Division season.

The Ravens - who're on a run of four straight wins - face an opposing team who are involved in a final day two-way battle for a promotion play-off spot.

The Manx side have beaten other sides pushing for promotion in the last two weeks with wins over Avro and Bury AFC, whilst Wythenshawe have suffered only one defeat in their last 11 league outings.

FC Isle of Man interim manager, Paul Jones, says his side are again looking forward to another challenging encounter and reflects on his team's campaign going into the final match of the season:

Going into this weekend's last league clash, FC Isle of Man are ending the campaign as one of the in-form teams in the division, with four wins, one draw and one defeat in their last six.

Their defensive record also continues to improve - the Ravens have only conceded more than twice in a game once since 8 February.

As a result, FC Isle of Man have shot up the table in recent weeks to 15th in the NWCFL Premier Division with 49 points now on the board.

But, they'll face a tough task to end this season with a win against a Wythenshawe Town team who, along with a consistently strong record over the campaign, are the league's top scorers, netting 108 times so far.

The Manchester-based visitors come into Saturday's contest just one point behind Avro in the league's promotion play-off spot and with a better goal difference.

Wythenshawe Town could snatch the play-off spot this weekend should they win and Avro fail to claim victory at Barnoldswick Town.

Alternatively, Wythenshawe Town can also leapfrog their rivals if they draw against FC Isle of Man and Avro are beaten in their game at the Vestacare Stadium.

FC Isle of Man vs Wythenshawe Town takes place at The Bowl this Saturday (22 April), kicking-off at the earlier time of 3pm.

Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary on our AM1368 and Digital platforms.
