Ramsey meet Oldershaw in top of table clash

Lancs/Cheshire Three preview

For the third time this season Ramsey line up for a first versus second place clash in Lancs/Cheshire Division Three.

Old Bedians and Ellesmere Port have both been brushed aside, however, this week Ramsey face the only team to have beaten them this season, Oldershaw.

While the other sides have been dropping points, ‘Shaw have been quietly going about their business and have crept into a prime position, albeit by playing more games than those around them.

Oldershaw beat Ramsey 27-22 in the earlier game with two early tries doing the damage and Ramsey’s usual strong finish proving too little too late.

Ramsey are now eleven points clear so must start this match as favourites, though.

Skipper Henry Swithinbank will have a selection headache this week.

Matthew Meechan returns from holiday and Mark Oldfield returns.

Rory Nicholson – who did a splendid job in the six jersey last week with a try and man of the match award to boot - may have just done enough to hold his place in a busy back row.

In the back line, Mikey Craine lit up Mossley Hill like a tinderbox with his pace out wide last time out and he should hold his place after scoring last week.
