Southern Nomads beat Ramsey 24-19 at their new Ballakilley ground after Ethan McNaught scored a dramatic last minute winner.

Dan Richmond gave Ramsey and early lead with a penalty but a Mark Young try and conversion at the other end gave the impetus back to Nomads.

Connor Casey snatched it back for Ramsey before tries from Orry Watterson and Jacob Halstein saw Nomads 17-8 ahead at the break.

Another Richmond penalty reduced the deficit before a Rory Nicholson try for Ramsey made it a one point game.

Richmond’s third penalty put Ramsey 19-16 in front before McNaught struck to claim the win.

Douglas needed maximum points from their game against Bowdon in North 1 West and they got them in a 33-7 win.

Lance Wyllie put them in front early on and after a Bowdon equalizer it was all one way traffic.

Harry Raven put Douglas ahead and Max Morley-Green’s 2 conversions saw Douglas lead 14-7 at the break.

Wyllie added his second after the restart and Adam Boyd secured the bonus point with Morley-Green converting both before rounding off the afternoon with a try of his own.

Vagas held onto second place in Lancs/Cheshire 2 despite losing 24-22 away at Oswestry.

Ross McCulloch, Matty Jones and Steve Gawne all went in for Vagas tries with Luca Simmons kicking two conversions and a penalty to ensure Vagabonds a useful losing bonus point.

Vagas ladies had a fruitless day at league leaders Sale 1861 losing out 67-0. Sale led 50-0 at half time and despite Vagabonds finding their feet in the second half the best they could do was stem the tide.
