LFC Ambassador praises event to showcase female game on Island
A former England women's international footballer believes 'the future is bright' for women and girls football on the Isle of Man and further afield.
Natasha Dowie - who is now Liverpool FC Women Ambassador - was a special guest at a major event at The Bowl in Douglas last night (7 March) to showcase the female game on Manx shores.
The ex-Liverpool, Everton and AC Milan striker says it 'brings a smile to her face' seeing girls getting the chance to get involved with the sport - an opportunity she says 'wasn't a possibility' for her in the past.
Dowie thinks the competitive women and girls game is growing at a 'scary rate', but adds the social aspect of playing football is just as important:
