Local man sets challenge to raise money for Movember

During lockdown, many people found giving themselves a goal or something to work towards helped keep their mental health, healthy.

Some baked banana bread, others learned how to knit, Sam Murphy decided to try and break the 24 hour deadlift world record.

This month, the local gym owner is aiming to beat the current title holder, American man Kengee Ehrlich's 500,500kg and set a new record of 600,000kg lifted in 24 hours.

But he's not only doing it for the glory.

Sam told Rhian Evans more:

Sam will be aiming to break the world record on 27 November, you'll be able to track his progress on the day on his Instagram account and/or donate here.
