MGP 2024: Mistral Racing announces four-rider roster

Lancashire crew targeting success in Classic Superbike race

Four riders will form the Mistral Racing mission for success at the 2024 Manx Grand Prix next month.

The Lancashire-based crew has announced David Johnson, Paul Jordan, Michael Sweeney and Joe Yeardsley will ride their machinery on the Snaefell Mountain Course in August.

All will be on board ZX-R 750cc Kawasaki's to take part in the Classic Superbike race.

Northern Irishman Jordan has ridden for the team each year since the 2018 Classic TT and managed a 12th-place finish in the class at last year's meeting.

Meanwhile, 2019 Classic Superbike race winner Johnson also finished second and third in 2022 and 2023 respectively with Alasdair Cowan Racing whilst Skerries man Sweeney - having joined the squad in 2019 - managed a sixth-place finish that year and again in 2022.

Elsewhere, Manx rider Yeardsley has already secured success with the team, winning the Post Classic Senior Superbike Race at the 2023 Pre-TT Classic Road Races before going on to separately win the Senior MGP race later that year on the Spin Arena Yamaha.

Run by former competitor Ian Harrison, Mistral Racing's former riders also include, Peter Hickman, Davey Todd, Jamie Coward, Steve Mercer and Dan Kneen.

The 2024 Manx Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from 18-26 August.
