Manx rider says time needed to 'let things recover properly'
Manx motorcycle racer Marcus Simpson won't take part in this year's Southern 100 next month.
The rider confirmed the news on social media saying 'it's time to let things recover properly and take some time out' following a TT this year he describes as being 'full of positives and negatives.'
The Island competitor sustained hand injuries in an incident in this year's Supersport TT Race 2.
Simpson adds those injuries were due to be operated on this week and he's hopeful of being back racing before the end of 2024.
Elsewhere at this year's TT he managed a strong 12th-placed finish in the Superbike race and also finished the first Superstock and Supersport races in 21st and 33rd respectively.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Southern 100 Road Races are due to take place on the Billown Course from 8-11 July.
