Make your vote count, urges chief minister

The chief minister is calling for the Island's voters to turn out in force at Thursday's general election.

Tony Brown (pictured) is retiring after a 35-year career in Manx politics, 30 of which he spent as the MHK for Castletown.

He has been heartened by the increase in voter numbers, particularly among 16 and 17-year-olds.

One thousand, two hundred and ninety-seven have registered, up from 724 in 2006.

Mr Brown is urging everyone to exercise their democratic right, something which many people around the world still don't have:
