Laxey seal Railway Cup berth

Laxey confirmed their Railway Cup qualification with a 4-2 over Gymns on Saturday.

Goals from Lee Cowley (two), Fraser Vaughan and an own goal sealed the points and cemented the Miners’ place in next weekend’s semi-finals, where they’ll host Peel.

It will also maintain their title hopes.

Mark Connor and Nick Foden hit the goals for Gymns in the match, which was played at Laxey.

St Mary's, who will travel to Rushen in the other semi-final, kept alive their Sure Mobile Premier League title aspirations with a 4-1 success over Corinthians.

After a goalless first half, the Saints turned up the heat with goals from Steven Glover, Liam Cowin and Martin Priestnal (two).
