In the Ascot Hotel Junior Cup yesterday (14 May) Rushen United progressed to the semi-finals at the expense of Ramsey who they beat 4-1.

Meanwhile, Marown needed a penalty shoot-out to eliminate St Johns United in their quarter-final tie. 

They won 4-3 on spot-kicks after the sides were level at 2-2 at the end of extra-time.

The Isle of Man Women's team continued their preparation for the forthcoming Island Games in Guernsey with a 15-0 triumph over Upton at the weekend.

The girls beat the Chester-based side courtesy of four goals each from Rebecca Cole and Erin Sells, two for Holly Sumner and Louise Gibbins while Holly Stephen, Becky Corkish and Chloe Teare scored one apiece.

Meanwhile, the Canada Life Women's League concluded yesterday with Malew winning 5-1 in the Southern derby at Castletown. 

Ashleigh Lachenicht scored two as did Rebecca Cregeen while Kate Lace was also on the scoresheet.
