It's Old Boys v St George's

Old Boys will meet St George’s in the showpiece of the Manx football season.

That’s after the Blackberry Lane outfit secured a memorable 1-0 success over Peel in the Cu Plas FA Cup semi-final on Saturday.

A Craig Stewart goal settled the tie as Old Boys reached the final for the first time since 1998.

And they’ll take on holders St George’s on Easter Monday after they overcame the spirited challenge of Michael.

A shock looked a possibility when Richard Crowe fired the westerners in front in the opening minute of the second half.

However, the Geordies kept alive their hopes of retaining the trophy by fighting back with Callum Morrissey and Chris Melly on target to clinch a 2-1 win.

In the Sure Mobile Premier League, Ayre United’s bid to beat the drop suffered a severe blow as they were edged out at home by in-form Laxey.

Martin Torr was among the Ayre scorers but the Miners won 3-2, thanks to goals from Justin Hawley, John Callow and an own goal.

In contrast, Corinthians are out of the drop zone after a 3-1 success at home to Gymns.

A Steve Glover double, one from the penalty spot, and a Josh Ridings goal fired the Whites to victory.

David Reece pulled one back for Gymns in controversial fashion but the outcome was never in doubt.

Two sides comfortably in mid-table shared the spoils at Garey Mooar with Union Mills and Ramsey drawing 1-1.

Steven Quine equalised for the home side from the penalty spot after Ramsey led at the break.
