IoMFA 'acknowledges' players' request for meeting with it and MIFA

The chief executive of the Isle of Man FA says it's awaiting a response from the Manx International Football Alliance about a proposed match at the end of the year.

MIFA wants its Ellan Vannin side to play Kurdistan at The Bowl on December 30.

But the Isle of Man FA has refused the request for that date, as it comes two days after the Railway Cup final, and four days before the next round of league fixtures.

IoMFA Chief Executive Frank Stennett has told Manx Radio it's now waiting to hear back from MIFA, to see if there are any other days it would like to play the match on.

He says a letter signed by 42 players saying they want a meeting with both the associations was discussed at the FA's meeting last night, and has been ackowledged by the board.
