July's Rally Isle of Man 2007 has been named as the best rally in the entire British Isles.
It scooped the honour from the sports most important weekly UK publication, Motorsport News, which is known as "The Voice of British Motorsport".
In their end of year review of rallying throughout the British Isles, the publication compiled their list of the top ten events.
In placing Rally Isle of Man as the very best, they add that it is, "the closest you can get to a World Rally Championship-style event without actually lining up alongside reigning World Champion Sebastien Loeb".
The article goes on to describe the event as "a three-day epic through the tight Manx lanes where the British and Irish championship regulars compete side by side".
At the end of November, the Royal Bank of Scotland International Manx Rally held in May was voted the best event in the MSA Asphalt Rally Championship.
