Hockey: IoM junior sides to contest UK friendlies

Three age groups to face matches over next three days

All six of the Isle of Man's junior national hockey sides will take part in a series of friendlies in the UK this weekend.

The respective boys and girls teams across the Under-18, Under-16 and Under-14 age groups will face opposition from England, Scotland and Wales between today and Sunday (30 Aug- 1 Sept).

These fixtures come ahead of the domestic mixed season getting underway on Saturday, 7 September.

Manx Radio's hockey correspondent Ben Cunningham thinks this weekend's games will be good preparation for the latest campaign for both players and coaching staff:
