Northern Irishman remains fastest newcomer in TT history

Hager PBM Ducati says it 'fully supports' Glenn Irwin's decision to retire from all forms of road racing.

In an update last Sunday (27 October) the Northern Irishman announced the news whilst informing followers on his plans for the 2025 season.

Instead he will be focusing his efforts on chasing success in the British Superbike Championship (BSB) going forward.

In a short statement, the team is also thanking the rider for 'contributing to the team's success at the North West 200 and also at the Macau Grand Prix.'

At this year's NW200 Irwin broke the record for superbike wins around The Triangle Circuit moving onto 11 victories, eclipsing the previous benchmark which had been jointly-held by Michael Rutter and Joey Dunlop.

His one and only appearance at the Isle of Man TT Races came in 2022 with Honda Racing UK in which he became the fastest TT newcomer in history clocking 129.8mph in the Superbike TT Race, a newcomer record which still stands.

Ahead of this year's meeting on the Snaefell Mountain Course Irwin told Manx Radio he will 'always support' the TT but is content watching on as a spectator, admitting that the 'intensity' and environment was something he found a challenge.
