Golf: Gandy finds more momentum in France

Manxman inside top-50 on latest Challenge Tour outing

Manx golfer Tom Gandy continued to improve his season momentum whilst competing on the Challenge Tour at the weekend.

Taking part in the Open de Bretagne in France from 22-25 June, Gandy managed to compete across all four rounds eventually finishing tied in 48th position on seven-over-par.

The event didn't start as planned on the 70-par course as there were seven hours of delays due to foggy conditions before play was eventually postponed due to fading light.

Whilst the conditions affected the timings, it didn't seem to hamper Gandy who posted his best Challenge Tour so far this season during the event.

He registered 74 on the opening round before a 68 in round two in a performance which individually was close to the statistics being posted by those at the top of the leaderboard.

After that, a score of 72 in the penultimate stage was then followed by a 73 on the fourth and final round.
