Golf: Dawson climbs LET rankings after latest tour event

Gandy returns to pro competition on Clutch Pro Tour

Manx golfer Ana Dawson has climbed up one place in the professional rankings after more positive displays in Europe at the weekend.

The Peel-born competitor returned to the LET roster for the Jabra Ladies Open in France from 11-13 May.

Come the end of play, Dawson finished tied in 52nd place on eight-over-par, with that finish beating her previous highest placing of 54th in an LET competition so far.

The result means Dawson moves up one place in the rankings to 140th.

Meanwhile, fellow Island pro Tom Gandy has made his return to professional action for 2023 this month as he contested the opening two events of the Clutch Pro Tour.

At the opener at St Mellion on 2-4 May he went on to tie for 31st position with a final score of seven-over-par before finishing tied in 33rd on three-over-par in the following competition at Frilford Heath Red (8-10 May).

Gandy is back in action on the Clutch Pro Tour at The Players Club which runs from 15-17 May, whilst Dawson is aiming to return to the Ladies European Tour on the Belgian Ladies Open on 26-28 May.
