Football: Peel's nearest challengers meet in big prem battle

Malew and Corinthians to meet in Women's FA Cup final on Sunday (Fixtures: 15-16 Mar)

The two nearest challengers to Canada Life Men's Premier League leaders Peel meet this weekend on what could be an important weekend in the top-flight title race.

With the westerners currently four points clear with a game in hand, Corinthians in second host third-placed St Mary's who are just a point behind their hosts going into Saturday's ties.

Peel themselves host already-relegated Marown tomorrow.

Elsewhere at the bottom of the standings, just one point separates St George's in the final relegation spot currently and Onchan just above in eleventh.

They have to navigate home ties against St John's United and Laxey respectively.

In Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2, leaders Braddan will be hoping to extend their current six-point advantage at the top when they host Colby.

Douglas High School Old Boys (Dhsob.) could go second should they win at home to Pulrose United.

On Sunday (16 March) the spotlight turns to this year's Women's FA Cup final as Malew and Corinthians meet at The Bowl at 2.45pm.

For the southern side it's a first major cup final since the 2005/06 season up against the seven-time winners of the competition.
