Prem champions and FA Cup winners to compete in curtain raiser
The first piece of silverware in Manx football will be up for grabs this weekend ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season.
Canada Life Men's Premier League champions, Peel, will face off against Ecap FA Cup winners, Corinthians, for the Eric Fletcher Charity Shield at The Bowl tomorrow (19 August) at 1.45pm.
The western side won the top flight title for the first time in 21 years in the last campaign, securing the trophy with a 1-1 home draw against their opponents this weekend on 26 April.
Meanwhile, Corinthians got revenge on their fellow premier league side beating them in the finals of both the FA Cup and Railway Cup in 2022/23.
