Game raises money for two local causes

A selection of the Isle of Man's top men's footballers played out an entertaining 2-2 draw last night all in aid of two local causes.

The Isle of Man Men's Representative Squad faced an FC Isle of Man XI in a charity match at The Bowl last night (21 December).

Blane Slattery's IoM squad took the lead on 22 minutes with Brody Patience slotting home from the penalty spot.

Just six minutes later, FC IoM drew level courtesy of a diving header from striker, Furo Davies.

But Slattery's side managed to take the lead once more before half-time on 43 minutes when Jay Chatwood coolly finished from Danny Gerrard's cross.

'The Ravens', however, responded early in the second half to get the final goal of the game with young attacker, Tom Creer, netting in the 56th minute.

All proceeds from ticket sales and donations on the night - which totalled £1,600 - will be shared between Victim Support Isle of Man and Isle Listen.

Speaking to the Isle of Man FA after the game, Slattery said it was good to see his team in action:
