Football: IoM Men's squad for Island Games confirmed

Blane Slattery picks 20-man squad for Guernsey trip

The Isle of Man men's national football team to compete at the 2023 Island Games has been confirmed today by the Isle of Man FA.

Manager, Blane Slattery, will take a 20-strong squad to Guernsey for the games which will run from 8-14 July.

Their campaign will begin on Sunday, 9 July - the Isle of Man will contest Group Two against Ynys Mon, Falkland Islands and Shetland.

Speaking about the selections, Mr Slattery says there is 'a great combination of tournament experience, raw potential, and leadership' in the group.

He adds they'll have a 'five-to-six week block' in which to prepare with the current Manx football season expected to run into late May.
