FC Isle of Man produce comeback to beat Ashton Town

Adebiyi, Higgins and Doyle on target in entertaining contest in Ramsey

A second-half comeback saw FC Isle of Man scoop victory in an entertaining 3-2 win over Ashton Town in their latest pre-season friendly at the weekend (13 July).

The Ravens took the lead late in the first period through a sweeping strike from Adam Adebiyi before the visitors equalised from close range just before half-time.

Cal Hunter's rasping half-volley put Ashton Town ahead shortly after the restart before substitute Charlie Higgins nodded home from a corner to level the contest at 2-2.

Moments after that, another sub in Sean Doyle found the net for the hosts from the penalty spot with a decisive third after teammate Ste Whitley was brought down in the Ashton Town box.

Speaking to FC Isle of Man's club media at full-time, manager Paul Jones was pleased with his squad's mentality to come from behind to win whilst also getting more valuable playing time ahead of the new campaign:
